Before you start: SpecWithCode installed.
Steps
- Start a Personal project. It uses app-managed storage on its device and needs no Git repository.
- Add an existing folder and save its access grant. The folder is not moved.
- Add a repository URL and associate your local checkout. Match checks the checkout’s actual remote.
- Save a local MCP command, then choose Check to discover its tools. Check does not verify an external account.
- Grant exactly the tools this project may use. Revoke removes future access; restoring needs a new check and new grants.

0:00 A Personal project
This Personal project uses app-managed storage and starts without a Git repository. Personal projects keep the same project-specific memory, routines and usage views.
0:14 Storage and extra folders
Its execution device owns the storage. Extra folders and repositories are optional. Add an existing synthetic folder and save its access grant. This does not move the folder.
0:29 Link a repository
A repository URL can coexist with that folder. Associate the owned local checkout before saving. Match checks the checkout's actual remote identity. This walkthrough performs no network clone.
0:44 Add a local MCP command
Save a local MCP command separately. This example is an owned, inert discovery fixture. Check discovers MCP tools. It does not verify a Gmail, Calendar or other external service account.
0:58 Grant and revoke tools
Choose and save exactly the tools this project may use. Calls still follow SpecWithCode's approval rules. Revoke removes future access. Restoring requires a new discovery check and fresh tool grants.
1:13 What ran on the device
The command runs as the device's user. No external account or AI provider was contacted in this walkthrough.
