Keep project memory and read honest usage

You keep a project goal, instructions and decisions in small memory files and read usage that comes only from recorded provider turns.

Recorded on SpecWithCode 0.2.0, added 9 October 2026. The current release is SpecWithCode 1.0.191.

Before you start: SpecWithCode installed; A project open.

Length 1:06Captions

Steps

  1. Keep the project goal, instructions and durable facts together. Instructions guide future turns; they do not replace a provider’s own history.
  2. Give a lasting decision its own small Markdown file and save it. SpecWithCode checks the file revision before replacing it.
  3. Reload and reopen the file to confirm the decision persisted. Another project keeps its own memory.
  4. Read usage, which comes from recorded provider turns. Missing data stays visible, and a cost estimate is not a bill.
